Synopsis
David, a horror film fanatic, admires his newly acquired poster when he is interrupted by his girlfriend, Stephanie, who is constantly at odds with David’s obsession. Completely disinterested in placating her, David turns one of his favourite movies on only to find a nationwide emergency notice being broadcast on every channel. Convinced that he’s living in a horror movie of his own, David’s world descends into chaos as paranoia ultimately takes a hold of him and leads him to definitively push Stephanie away once and for all.

Anas Hasan is a first-generation Canadian Palestinian who grew up in the UAE. At the tender age of 10 years old, Anas began his acting journey in plays namely “Charlotte's Web", "Anne of Green Gables", "The Wizard of Oz" and "MacBeth”. His love for storytelling and singing grew over the years and he was cast as the lead in multiple musical theater shows all while pursuing his engineering degree at Queen’s University. When he’s not acting or singing, you can find him playing volleyball or learning Spanish. He’s grateful and excited to bring his character, David, to life! Meeland Nicola studied acting at the Toronto Film school and the Royal academy of dramatic arts. She specialized in improv at Second City and would describe herself as a huge nerd having played D&D for the better part of a decade. She loves the horror genre and 80’s music, particularly heavy metal.

Director
Lukas is an aspiring filmmaker from Toronto, Ontario with a strong background in music composition and production. Lukas has been studying music and sound in some form since the age of 3, attending such institutions as the Royal Conservatory of Music, St. Michael’s Choir School, Canadian Children’s Opera Chorus, Berklee College of Music Online, and Humber College. His passion for audible mediums extends beyond music as he founded his own audio production company, Lukasound, in 2016, where he specializes in dialogue editing. Lukas has had a lifelong desire to work in film, often spending his weekends during childhood on film sets as an extra. He currently studies Film and TV Production at Humber College, hoping to build a career in the industry.

Toyin Olaniyan is an aspiring producer and editor. Born and raised in Nigeria with a background in Economics, Toyin decided to take a chance on herself and pursue her passion in film. Her passion and love for film led her to make the move to Toronto, Canada where she studies filmmaking in the Film and Television Production program at Humber College. Stay Alone is Toyin’s second biggest project which followed her work as a picture editor in the short documentary, What Remains (2022) which focused on the life of a Toronto sculptor whose natural working materials led to a life-threatening illness. Stay Alone is Toyin’s producing debut and she aims to take on more producing and editing roles to further develop herself, hoping to leave a positive mark as she builds her career in the film industry.

Eddy Yang is an aspiring cinematographer, director, and writer. Stay Alone marks Eddy’s debut working as a Director of Photography. Having immigrated to Canada from Shenyang, China, Eddy’s creative vision is beautifully amplified by his cultural heritage. Director Zhang Yi-Mou’s stylized use of color greatly inspired the dynamic visual style of Stay Alone. With his ever evolving technical knowledge, Eddy is ready to create more cinematic experiences for the audience’s eyes.

Farhan Rashid is an aspiring writer/director with a burning passion for storytelling. Born & raised in Toronto, Canada, he has always been drawn to the creative arts, and he knew from a young age that he wanted to pursue a career in film. Just recently, he made his debut as the 1st AD for the production “Stay Alone” and wouldn’t mind returning to the role in the future. With his hardwork and dedication, he aims to make a mark in the film industry and become a respected name in the world of cinema.

Camera Operator
Alejandro is a hardworking, friendly, and kind filmmaker. He loves operating the camera and loves being in the front-row seat watching the actors work their magic. He’s always willing to take an extra step for the success of the production. He’s a great team player and worked well with the camera team on the production Stay Alone. He was also the camera operator on a documentary called burning rocket fuel so Alejandro has good knowledge of how to operate a camera. He’s currently in his second year hoping to learn more as he gets closer to graduating, hoping to be a great camera operator and filmmaker.

Gordan Krstevski is a Canadian-born film enthusiast with Macedonian roots. His passion for film was ignited after watching cult classics like Akira and American Psycho, which inspired him to delve deeper into the craft. Gordan's experience as a 1st Assistant Camera on the production of Stay Alone was a perspective changing one, as he gained invaluable knowledge and skills that enabled him to set up the C700 camera and effectively contribute to the success of the project. With his positive attitude on set and hard-working mentality, Gordan hopes to make a big impact in the film industry.

Zachariah Madge is a 19 year old filmmaker from Toronto Ontario and is currently in his second year at Humber College for film and television production. Zachariah has been interested in working in the film industry for as long as he can remember, as a kid he would always be recording something on his camera, and in middle school, he started to do skits and small films on YouTube and write dramatic scripts mostly by himself as his friends didn’t have the same interest in film that he had. At first, Zachariah wanted to go into acting, then he had his goals focused on going into directing, but now after finishing his first year at film school Zachariah is looking more into going into cinematography. Zachariah has always loved films and found the behind-the-scenes of how they are made so interesting and complex. He wants to make films to give an escape for people from the real world where people can just enjoy themselves.

Casting Director
Kaleb Carmichael is a young and aspiring screenwriter and filmmaker who is dedicated to his craft. He has a passion for storytelling and has worked on several film projects. Kaleb recently served as the casting director for the upcoming short film Stay Alone, where he demonstrated his keen eye for identifying talented actors. In the past, Kaleb has produced the documentary Beauty Behind the Madness and collaborated with the popular YouTube channel Six Side Studios, where he has shared his knowledge and skills in writing and filmmaking. His dedication and hard work are a testament to his commitment to his craft, and he is sure to achieve great things in the film industry in the future.

Production Designer
Denise Peda is an aspiring director/writer in her second year of study in the Film and Television Production program at Humber College. On the film Stay Alone she held the role of Production Designer, giving her the opportunity to draw on her previous years of study in visual arts and photography. In fall of 2022 she directed the short music documentary This Beat Goes On, and she was awarded the 2022 NBCUniversal NextGen Scholarship for her experimental short film Wonder. Upon graduation, she aspires to continue writing and directing narrative films with a strong emotional core.

Art Director
Nolan Mick is a 19 year old and second year student studying under the Film and Television Production Program at Humber, who works to sharpen his proficiency in digital editing and software regarding that field. Nolan also has an interest in music composing for film and in set design and may study further in those departments for future career opportunities. He is a very hard driven person who sees the goal till the end with high hopes and attitude, not backing down until the project is complete. Nolan has a strong background in the musical arts and finds whatever opportunity possible to be involved in music related activities, as he strongly enjoys performing for others.

Sound Recordist
An aspiring film creator at Humber College specializing in sound. Chris has taken it upon himself to learn and get as close to perfection as possible for everything sound related. Whether it’s during pre-production and gathering all the intel needed to get the clearest audio. To postproduction, carefully mastering each track to make sure that the levels and the clarity is where it needs to be. Chris can find workarounds to any new issues that come across during or after production.

Jayden is an upcoming editor and filmmaker who is enrolled in the Film and Television Production Program. He has taken it upon himself to learn visual effects and the skilled need for DMT position. When making visual effects, Jayden often comes up with many different ways and options to achieve the desired effect as best as possible. Jayden also tries his best to make a fun, inclusive, and positive environment for those on set and for those around him.

Owen is an aspiring writer/director, now in his 2nd year of the Advanced Diploma of Film and Television Production at Humber College. Born and raised in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Owen now calls Toronto his home away from home. Some of Owen’s accomplishments include work on two Harry Rosen commercials, directing the short documentary “Sensational Recipe”, the role of script supervisor on the Humber Studio Drama “Fresh Catch”, and the role of picture editor on the Humber Studio Drama “Stay Alone.” Owen looks forward to continuing to hone his craft, and in the future wishes to share new stories with a worldwide audience.

Jonah Armitage is a skilled filmmaker with a keen eye for detail and a passion for storytelling. As the script supervisor on the Humber Film Program's "Stay Alone," Jonah played an integral role in ensuring that the film's narrative was cohesive and engaging. With previous experience as a Director of Photography on "Beauty Behind the Madness" and an editor on the upcoming "Fresh Catch," Jonah's talent and creativity shine through in every project he touches.
